This past Sunday was the boyfriend’s birthday. We were pretty exhausted from our whirlwind Thanksgiving weekend in Pittsburgh with his family and catching Vinyl Rhino at Old Towne Tavern the night before. We had decided on going to brunch at Firestone‘s earlier that weekend, and we invited my family along since we hadn’t gotten to spend the holiday with them.
Eggs and Hash: two poached eggs over a mixture of potatoes and meat (the description wasn’t available on the online menu.)
A Frittata: open faced omelet with English peas, cherry tomato and Gruyere cheese. Served with home fries.
Eggs Chesapeake: poached eggs, crab cake, Hollandaise sauce. Served with home fries.
Steak and Eggs: two eggs cooked to order, home fries, 8oz. N.Y. Strip steak drizzled with Bearnaise sauce.
Also ordered were two very delicious Bloody Mary’s made with Absolute Peppar Vodka.
Everyone was more than pleased with their meal (not that there was any chance they wouldn’t.) And next time we’re planning on actually making reservations and going a little later so we can hopefully enjoy the musical entertainment.
